Watch the Recording: “Rise Up! An Interfaith Discussion with Rev. Dr. Otis Moss, Jr. & Rabbi Jonathan Cohen”

It is in our nature to be curious and ask questions. Following the death of George Floyd and subsequent protests across the nation, we proudly stated our commitment to standing in solidarity with the black community. But recognized we could do more. During a call with our sage council, we planned a meaningful program to answer the question, ”What does it mean to rise up as individuals and as a community?”

One week later, on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, with the support of sixteen community partners and 800 audience registrations, we turned our attention to the civil rights activist, spiritual leader, and founding board member of the Maltz Museum, The Reverend Dr. Otis Moss Jr. who was joined by The Temple Tifereth Israel’s Rabbi Jonathan Cohen for the online program, ”Rise Up!”

The interfaith discussion was not the first time the men spoke together. In January 2020, Rabbi Cohen introduced Rev. Moss for the Maltz Museum’s annual MLK Day celebration at The Temple.
