We are seeking outgoing, curious and friendly individuals to join our community of volunteer docents. Oftentimes, docents are the main point of interaction for museum-goers and docents allow guests to have a fuller understanding of the museum’s collection and mission. Guiding tours is enriching and educational, a creative way to continue lifelong learning while supporting the Museum’s work. Docents are provided with training, supplies and resources which allow for a greater understanding of public speaking, history and the museum’s collections. Also, docents are given exclusive, behind-the-scenes information regarding exhibitions from curators, professors, scholars and other experts.
Meet new friends, partake in an enriching lifetime learning experience and gain a greater understanding of art, Northeast Ohio, and the rich cultural heritage of the Jewish people. Our volunteer docent training program begins in July and will focus on learning to lead tours of our core collection (An American Story and the Temple-Tifereth Israel Gallery). If you are interested, please contact Aaron Bane at 216.593.0587 or wbane@mmjh.org
