Growing up in Cleveland my mother played mah jongg every week. I decided I would never play it. When she died I donated her 2 mah jongg sets to NCJW. Four years ago we moved to Davis, California and joined a temple. I formed a havurah. Two of the women played mah jongg and seven more wanted to learn. Of course I wanted to be with my friends so I learned also. I love the game so much I joined two friends to teach two other non-Jewish groups how to play. I guess I was destined to become a mahj maven.
