May the Tiles Be with You: Cleveland’s Love Affair with Mah Jongg, the original documentary short by area filmmakers Amy Wasserstrom Cummings and John Cummings, is now available online. The film delves into the game and the connection Clevelanders have with it: weekly games, long-standing traditions, multi-generational stories. Interview subjects are male and female, Jewish and non-Jewish – their commonbond is love of the game.

Amy Wasserstrom Cummings is an award-winning broadcast television producer, with two decades of experience in network television production, including 12 years as a senior producer at NBC’s Today. Shehas covered wars, national elections, inaugurations, several Olympic games and twenty years worth ofbreaking news and feature stories. She’s won two National Emmy Awards and numerous other nationalbroadcast awards.
John Cummings has 30 years of professional experience as a video journalist. He runs his own productioncompany, Cameralogic, Inc. Current clients include HGTV, Food Network, PBS NewsHour, CNBC, NBC, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Weather Channel, History Channel, and many others. He recentlyfinished shooting a documentary, Catholicism, that covered 12 countries and aired nationally on PBS last fall. His awards include 5 Regional Emmys, the prestigious Peabody Award, and many other regional andnational awards. This project for the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage is his first foray into the world of mah jongg.
