It was just like the John Hughes’ film Sixteen Candles – you know the one, where Molly Ringwald’s family forgets her sixteenth birthday because everyone is focused on her older sister’s wedding? The same thing happened here last week. The Maltz Museum was Molly Ringwald and TRAITOR! Spies, Lies and Justice Denied was the older sister’s wedding. In all the preparation and concentration on the opening of the Dreyfus Affair exhibition we forgot all about the Museum’s 8th birthday! If not for a mention of This Day in Jewish History on Twitter last Friday it would have totally passed us by! I quickly posted some pictures from our Opening Day on Facebook and sent word to the Museum staff. So from myself, who started here that opening year – here’s to eight extraordinary years, more than 20 special exhibitions, and more than 234,000 visitors! Thank you to everyone that has ever visited the Museum and we hope to see you again soon. And for those that have never been – now is as good a time as any. Come in and wish us a happy birthday!
