Lecture: Hitler’s Apocalypse: Nazi Religiosity and the Holocaust
Wednesday, December 11 at 7:00 pm
Held at Maltz Museum
$10 general admission, $5 members
David Redles, professor and author discusses the concept of degenerate art as part of Hitler’s belief that modern art was “Jewish” art or a deliberate attempt to “poison” the body and soul of Germany. Dr. Redles explores how Nazi religiosity, which blended traditional and modern apocalyptic and messianic imagery with pseudo-scientific eugenic theories, created the Third Reich to justify the murders of millions perceived as a threat to the soul of the German people.
